Working 9-5...What a way to make a livin'!

Errrrrr...may be not.

No doubt, Dolly had some of the story right here. But we don't have to settle anymore! That's no fun anyway.

Women are gaining momentum in the field based professions. And not because we have to, but because we want to. It's often just a great fit.

The Bureau of Labor and Statistics is a cool tool to better understand how many women are working in outdoor professions. You really have to look at the details and then consider these stats are often a few years behind. But, they do provide a general idea of how outdoor professions and women connect.

As of 2018, the percentage of women employed in some of the outdoor professional industries:

Agriculture, forestry, fishing, and hunting: 25.9%

Mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction: 13.8%

Construction: 9.9%

Utilities: 21.4%

Protective Service Occupations: 22.5%

As with anyone seeking opportunity, people often don't know what they don't know. Getting the word out to young women, in particular, as to options that exist help them realize opportunities are truly endless. The world is your oyster!

We are true believers in not placing sqaure pegs in round holes. If you are meant to work as a wildland firefighter, for example, you should start the journey to becoming one now. Don't wait until you've spent 20 years in an office at a desk based on someone else's dream for you when all you are is miserable. You will only be less you for you and less you for everyone else. You will only find it harder - financially, socially, physically - later. And worse, although you can always (pending physical fitness/age requirements in some cases) move to a field based profession, you may just truly feel stuck and unable to leave your office job. People naturally perform better, are happier and are more successful - in every way - and live better lives for themselves and others when they choose the career they really want to live. Don't wait - you will never regret the experiences you have in a field based profession. You can always ride a desk job later!

On that note, we're here to support your dreams and, more importantly, help you execute on them and execute well. Our little part of your awesome drive to make them happen entails providing you and other women with apparel and gear that that you can rely on for comfort, fashion and performance.

If we can help reduce your stress so you can focus on the most important aspects of your work, then we will have accomplished our mission!
